Originally, this hospital began as a sanatorium, expanded in the 1960's to include a center for mentally
challanged individuals and expanded again in 1979 to include a chronic care facility. Although this particular
sanatorium was not the most beautiful, the biggest, or the most intriguing - as the rest of them do - it had an
enchanting character that made the intense mission totally worth it.
This was a typical case of, "more of the same." There were probably 15 or so repetitive buildings.
I could be wrong, but the buildings looked like the typical cottage style buildings. Looked similar
to Met State.Some in worse shape than others.
Unique features included the tiniest doors in the maintenance / power plant. It makes me wonder
if they employed a large volume of little people here. I should mention that this is the first matenance
shop with pctures of naked chicks - circa late '80's. There was a large greenhouse with all of the glass
smashed out that was concoquered by 18 years of overgrown trees, weeds, and plants. There were
what looked to be some large storage barns with a lot of furniture -lights, bureaus, and televisions.
We also saw a deer who seemed pretty happy to see us - she was wagging her tail.
